Bringing Griffin and Ivy to Life

I've now hired four illustrators to create images of Griffin and Ivy, the two main characters from my book!

Another step in the right direction on this journey. Despite being in complete control of my path, I'm still at the mercy of other people's timelines. Art, edits, readers... it's amazing what a slow process it all is.

I can't wait to get the images back and share them with you all!

Developmental Edits Complete

Developmental edits have now been completed and I've just sent my manuscript back to my editor for copy edits! Yay!

These past few weeks have felt like I've been in limbo. The writing process is a lot of "hurry up and wait" which I find tests my patience on a daily basis.

Now starts the process of reaching out to beta readers for feedback on round two of the manuscript.

Stepping Back for Spring Break

With Spring break having dominated my last week I was able to step back from the writing and author life for a bit and just spend time with my kids.

It's been such an eye opening experience. There is so much to learn and I feel like I see new information every day.

It can get overwhelming quickly but I feel like I'm doing a good job of keeping up!

A Coffee Shop Kind of Day

I went to Le Croissant Bakery today for a sandwich and a latte and it was way busier than I expected. It was actually really nice, one of those places where there’s just enough noise that you feel productive without being distracted.

I did, however, manage to spill my latte on myself almost immediately, which feels very on brand at this point.

I told myself I was going there to write, but I ended up doing more research than anything else. Which is also very on brand. Still counts, just... not in the way I planned.
